CANADIAN GAY
TRAVEL SERIES BUMP! SWELLS
INTO U.S. AND EUROPE
Second Season
Announced For World's First Gay & Lesbian
Travel TV Series
TORONTO (Canada) - February 2, 2005 - Bump!
The world's first gay and lesbian travel series announced
today that a second season has been commissioned by
Canada's PrideVision TV, along with new sales
of the series in the U.S. and France. Pre-production
has already commenced with production to start later
this spring. Bump! was created, developed and produced
by Bumper 2 Bumper Media, an exclusive partnership
between Pink Triangle Press and Les Tomlin,
President of Peace Point Entertainment Group.
Bump! executive producers Andrew Chang and Les Tomlin
also announced the sale of Bump's first season of 26
half-hour episodes to both here! TV in the U.S.
and PinkTV in France. The contract for each network
is for 18 months; the series is already on the air in
France and will begin airing in the U.S. shortly. here!
TV reaches more than 24 million homes in the U.S. via
satellite and cable in select markets. PinkTV is the
first 'gay and gay friendly' channel in France and went
to air in October 2004 and will begin broadcasting in
Belgium in February 2005. As international distributor
for Bump! both sales were made by Portfolio Entertainment
Inc.
"We are excited to be airing on the world's three
biggest gay TV networks reaching millions of people
in Canada, the United States and France," says
co-executive producer Les Tomlin. "The gay and
lesbian TV audience has been largely untapped until
now and Bump! is thrilled to be involved in this ground
breaking new television market that is expected to grow
internationally very rapidly."
"Bump! is a terrific example of creative and engaging
programming that informs and entertains gay and lesbian
audiences around the world," notes co-executive
producer Andrew Chang. "The gay and lesbian community
has long been severely underserved by television and
other major media, so we're extremely proud to be leaders
in this high-profile growth market."
In each episode Bump! presents a new gay-friendly destination
in a stylish and upbeat format. Viewers are taken on
a personal tour of each locale, including interviews
with local celebrities, personalities and gay icons.
Bump! also delves into the always-intriguing (and often
risqué) social scene of the destination. From
circuit parties to coffeehouses, from beaches to bathhouses;
the show explores where and how people connect for fun
and love. Each episode gives a travelogue of the location,
covering attractions, neighbourhoods and events, all
from a gay perspective. The first season traveled to
such cities as London, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Manchester,
Montreal, Houston and Palm Springs. Destinations currently
being considered for season two include Buenos Aires,
Berlin, Budapest, Amsterdam, Cape Town, Barcelona and
many other 'non-traditional' gay destinations.
Les Tomlin is the President of Peace Point Entertainment
Group a Toronto-based independent producer of cutting-edge
